MIC President Samy Velu seems to understand Malaysian Indian problem much better now then while serving as Cabinet Minister. It would be part of their rebranding exercise by following path taken by Pakatan Rakyat. He must realize that he is the main culprit to lead where Malaysian Indian is now.
Talking about demolishment of Sri Maha Kaliaman Temple in Ampang , YB. S Manikavasagam asked Samy Velu to explain why he authorized demolishment of more than 80 temples in Malaysia while serving as Cabinet Minister. Why he is talking about only temple in Selangor? Why don’t he voice out on Temple demolished by BN Government in Sentul, Kuala Lumpur . Refer to Hindraf letters to Prime Minister.
Pakatan Rakyat Government been very receptive by maintaining BN trained Staff and this is the price we paid for it. Despite Selangor State Government directive to all Local Council Heads calling them stop immediately any demolishment of place of worship the enforcement unit made this blunder without the knowledge of Local Councilors .
The Temple which build in 1993 on a forest reserve was managed by 23 committee members. The caretaker Murugiah advised that in 1994 they met Mr Wilson Sigamany MIC’s three term MPAJ Councilor and MIC Ampang Chairman for assistant getting proper documentation and placement for the temple. Sigamany refused to lend assistances to them without proper explaination. Even after being appointed as Senator, Sigamony refused to assist the temple committee member as MPAJ already torn down the said temple twice in year 2003. Where was MIC Samy Velu , MIC Youth Chairman and other MIC elected representative then?
Manikavasagam further queried where was Samy Velu when authorities blown out Sivalingga in Tampin Negeri Sembilan? Why suddenly he raise his voice towards Pakatan Rakyat Government?. He should take the blame first for letting BN set proceedings.
Manikavasagam hope MPAJ will take immediate rectification by rebuilding the temple as promised in proper manner and avoid such mistake from repeating. He also called upon Dato’ Menteri Besar Selangor to immediate chair a special meeting to brief all Presidents of Local Council explaining Pakatan Rakyat clear stand on place of worship.
My Head is on chop board now claim Manikavasagam as he need to answer voters and supporters on this incident. Though I’m disappointed with slowness in gazetting all histrocial place of worship I hope it will materialize soon.

KENYATAAN AKHBAR
26 September 2008

GOOD JOB YB MANIKAVASAGAM (PKR) AND YB DR XAVIER JAYAKUMAR (PKR)!!!
Is this one of your political strategies or in any way this two YB’s suffering from selective amnesia???
When BN rules Selangor……………
Temple demolished. Why? because of UMNO.
MIC to be blamed. Why? because they were not be able to do anything to stop it.
When PR rules Selangor……………
YB Manikavasagam’s explanation:-
Temple demolished. Why? Because they maintaining BN trained staffs. ( Ref:Blame MIC for Temple Torn Down)
DEAR YB,
1) ARE YOU TELLING THAT BN GOVERNMENT TRAINING THEIR STAFFS FOR THIS?
or
2) YOU ASKING US NOT TO BLAME IT ON THE GOVERNMENT BECAUSE IT IS CAUSED BY THEIR STAFFS?? AND THE GOVERNMENT IS INNOCENT.
WELL, IF YOU CHOOSE NO.1,
THEN THE ONLY WAY IS TO SACK ALL THE GOVERNMENT SERVANTS???
I WONDER WHAT WILL HAPPEN ‘IF’ PR FORMS CENTRAL GOVERNMENT. IF ANYTHING HAPPEN, WE CANT BLAME OR ASK THEM, BECAUSE ITS NOT THEIR FAULT, ITS THE BN TRAINED GOVERNMENT SERVANTS FAULT!!!???
IF YOU CHOOSE NO.2,
THEN I THINK YOU SHOULD RETHINK YOUR POLITICAL CAMPAIGN AGAINST BN 6 MONTHS AGO YB.
YB Dr Xavier’s explanation:-
We have a format prepared for temples in Selangor to register with the state but this temple was not on the list of registered temples. And it is not a temple, it is a shrine which it is located on a forest reserve. (Ref:Temple torn down without state’s knowledge)
DEAR YB,
I THINK THE BN GOVERNMENT WAS GIVING THIS SAME CLASSIC EXPLANATION ALL THE WHILE.
THE SAME EXPLANATION THAT YOU (PR) REFUSE TO ACCEPT AND SPIN IT FOR YOUR POLITICAL MILEAGE?
GOOD JOB YBs. THIS IS TRULY ENLIGHTING!!!

Dear Punithan,
The beginging of your comment where you indicated the mp’s names with their political parties in brackets shows that your comment is politically motivated and not genuine conncern towards the plight of the indians. Personally im a indian who is waiting for Malaysians inmeterial of race and colour get to live here in our country without any discrimination.
If you start the pointing fingers game the debate can go on and on for a long time. As for me…I think that there are politicians who have barely be in power for 6 months who are learning to serve the nation while making mistakes and hopefully correcting them on the way.
Don’t get me wrong, if the PR folks don’t step up to it, they know of the consequences but comparing them to the people who were in power for more than 50 years and have failed miserably is not fair in my view.
Its definitely easier to turn a deaf ear to the plight and issues facing us but questioning the intent of someone who actually is trying to do something?? Cheap man..

Mr abi,
This is political balance. This means ‘they’ are being watched.
So whats wrong me asking them on the election promises as a PKR candidates?
in the past, many of us choose not ask questions. And look where it lead u to…..
I feel YB manikavasagam i very much open to critics. my comments are published here. thats he prove.
we should stop questioning back those who shooting the quetions ( relevant ones of course). its the respond that matters.

Hi Mr Punithan,
Asking questions is what we should started doing long time ago but its good that we have started asking questions since we have a opposition who respond to questions. Like you said its a true testament that the mp’s are interested in critics as well as questions(with your comments being published here).
Responds may come in many different forms. Direct respond to a individual or respond to the masses in the case of the temple demolition, a press statement was released today to indicate the progress of what has been happening.
I think its great that you are asking the questions and all of us should learn a thing or two from you. If only we had the guardians of the Indians,Chinese and Malays who were in power for more than 50years were remotely interested in the rakyat’s well being rather than their own isn’t it!?

Hi punithan,
you mentioned that:
“But YB zuraidah and YB Anwar ( in his blog) denied it. According to them the temple i under renovation. ”
I can’t find the link to the denial in anwar’s blog. can you help to post the link?
As for Zuraidah - she said it was media who misquoted her. What you think?
