Event : Forum ” OUR TEMPLE OUR COMMUNITY”
Date : 28 June 2009 ( Sunday )
Time : 8.30am – 12.30pm
Venue : Dewan Sri Kerayong, Kapar.
Details :-
* Registration of participant representing Temples in Kapar and followed by breakfast.
* Forum started with prayers by Malaysia Hindu Sangam Kapar Council Members.
* Welcoming speech given by Mr.R.Sellathurai ( Vice President, MHS Kapar Council )
* Followed by YB Manikavasagam’s opening speech.
* Mr.T.Ganesh presented first paper titled “Temple Management” African Diary movie
* Second paper “Perspective of the Government on Hindu Temples”
presented by Mr. A Bakianathan, representative from Selangor Exco member YB Dr.A.Xavier Jayakumar office.
* Last session – Question & Answer . Questions from Temple representative from
was was answered by both speakers and Mr. Shanmugam, political secretary to YB Manikavasagam.
First step towards thousand miles journey just started last weekend, with hope to find some solution to century old Malaysian Hindu Temples related problem. While, as an elected representative I will put forward some solution and suggestions from the forum to related Government agencies to enable policies formualtion.
At the same time community especially Temple management must immediately adapt basic fundamental requirements of the governing authority while focusing more towards development of religion and culture among youths in Malaysia.
