Nik Aziz reminds Pakatan leaders to deliver the goods

KOTA BAHARU, Jan 23 — PAS spiritual leader, Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat  today reminded Pakatan leaders to deliver the goods and avoid unhealthy practices like “cah keting” (internal sabotaging), cronysm and corruption, failing which the opposition coalition could expect to get booted out in the next election.

The Kelantan Menteri Besar said history had proven that people would reject an elected government if it betrayed the people’s trust.

“I am giving a reminder to leaders in the Pakatan Rakyat to fulfill the people’s aspirations and avoid engaging in unhealthy practices like “cah keting”, cronysm, corruption and the like.

“Instead, the people will continue to accept the Pakatan coalition if we govern well,” he told reporters after receiving a courtesy call from a Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) delegation from Kapar, Selangor at his official residence here today.

The delegation was led by Kapar Member of Parliament S Manikavasagam and Kapar PKR head, Mohd Bakir Abd Wahab. Pakatan wrested the states of Kedah, Penang, Perak and Selangor from the Barisan Nasional (BN) in the last general election in 2008. Perak has since reverted to BN rule. — Bernama
