S Manikavasagam is first time Member of Parliament Malaysia, Kapar(P.109).He stood under the ticket of Parti Keadilan Rakyat(PKR). He also sits in PKR's Supreme Body Council and PKR's Political Bureau Member .
It is extremely disturbing that the MBSA has decided to demolish a religious institution, barely a week after the Deepavali festival. I was made aware of the situation only after the demolition of the said religious institution by concerned residents. I as the Member of Parliament for the concern area, I was at no time informed by the MBSA of their intention to demolish the said religious structure.
In fact despite my several request, MBSA has never written to me or requested my participation in any MBSA activities at any time, although part of my constituency falls into MBSA area. And I was also made aware that no instruction from the Selangor exco was given for the demolition of the said institution, which was required for the demolition of any religious institution in the state of Selangor.
When nothing is done about illegal structures such as Billboards in MBSA area, it is unacceptable that MBSA officers are more interested in going against state government policy and directive in demolishing religious structures. I demand that serious action be taken against persons responsible for this breach of state policy, to ensure that similar incidents are not repeated in the future.
I also appeal to the people to remain clam, the State Exco, YB Manikavasagam and myself will be working with the temple to find a solution, and we will ensure that the interest of all involved will be safe guarded
