S Manikavasagam is the elected MP of Kapar(P.109).He stood under the PKR ticket.He is also in the Environmental Committee(opposition).
Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya had issued stop work with immediate effect to Bukit Gasing, Petaling Jaya Sivan Temple on 18 Oct 2008.
YB S.Manikavasagam visited the site of temple this morning to get first hand information on Construction progress.

Initial checking reveal that MBPJ act immediately on Safety Measures as Erosion may result losses of life. Mr Danny, Chief Contractor advise that they had taken all necessary precaution steps including irritations system. While, works yet to commence to other part where landslide reported occurred in March 08 due to funding.
Danny, further advise that his office will submit a full report to MBPJ and YB Dr Xavier , State Exco Member within next 3 days. we also noted there are few other Bungalows located within area of Bukit Gasing having build in slopes.
The act of MBPJ to issue immediate stop work order and fine without consultation with Temple contractors and Architects on their plans much regretted.
