Thaipusam was reported first celebrated at the Batu Caves, Malaysia in 1888. Since then it’s become an important expression of cultural and religious identity to Malaysians of Tamil Indian origin, and it’s now the largest and most significant Hindu public display in the country.

While, there are reasons for a Hindu to celebrate Thaipusam ( read here for the legend). The most significant reason for us is it  commemorates both the birthday of Lord Murugan and the occasion when Sakthi  gave Murugan a vel for him  vanquish the evil demon Soorapadman.

Politically Thaipusam in Malaysia also been remembered by many Indians on the cruelty of Barisan Nasional Government includings it’s Crony ally MIC , Brutality of Malaysian Police whom fired tear gars against devotees and supporters gathers on eve of November 25, 2007.

Also how loop holes in law of the land been used to charges hundreds of innocent public on ground of hurting a policeman. While Police in Malaysia had killed more than thousand of Public including Innocents but not a single action been taken.

Though, the BN government still ignoring us but they realise that Malaysian no longer coward in fighting for justice and rights.

Thaipusam is the day for us to clean our inner self  and pray for well being of all Living soul.  Let’s us unitely pray  to the Almighty seeking his bleesing to  defeat all the injustice occured to mankind soon.
